Petitions can be left at key businesses and locations as well.

How are the RDCK and municipal governments spending the additional millions of dollars they're receiving this year? What strings are attached?
To be able to ask questions at the Provincial Budget Consultations, you must be Registered by 2 PM, Thursday March 30th.

Message From Judy Lamb Richardson

Message from Judy Lamb Richardson:

April 20th is the next RDCK regular open board meeting. I was hoping to have a polished presentation to them by then where we have spokespeople attend the meeting (spokespeople must get themselves put onto the agenda) to speak. We must be able to speak to the board with respect, kindness and presenting data without strong emotion so that we have the best chance of being heard.
My thoughts are that we have individual groups representing as many RDCK district areas as possible and that each topic builds upon the topic before until a clear picture is painted of what is going on in the world. Ex. Someone starts with a concern around the Chinese Communist Social credit system and the RDCK's evident push towards digitalization; then comes a presentation on the Climate Action Plan and the warnings from CSIS around 15 min cities and digitalization and other concerns; then land use by-laws; official community plans; and budget/grant both provincial and RDCK's talking about the free fall we're in. My thoughts are as many different faces from the different areas all stating similar concerns may help them pause and consider the aspects of their decision making and that the concerns span across all the Director's areas.
The RDCK Board is as follows (Please Check the Spelling):
Area A - Garry Jackman
Area B - Roger Tierney
Area C - Kelly Vandeberghe
Area D - Aimee Watson
Area E - Cheryl Graham
Area F - Tom Newell
Area G - Hans Cunningham
Area H - Walter Popoff
Area I - Andy Davidoff
Area J - Henny Hanegraaf
Area K - Teresa Weatherhead
City of Castlegar - Maria McFaddin
Town of Creston - Arnold DeBoon
Village of Kaslo - Suzan Hewat
Village of Nakusp - Aidan McLaren-Caux
City of Nelson - Keith Page
Village of New Denver - Leonard Casley
Village of Salmo - Diana Lockwood
Village of Silverton - Colin Ferguson
Village of Slocan - Jessica Lunne
Each spokesperson and/or group behind the spokespeople will have to research each of the areas of concern as one person can't do it all. Once each group researches any of the areas, they can teach the rest of us. I'm finding a concern in one area tends to overlap areas of concerns in other areas.
The areas: Land use by-laws (RDCK is looking at many area's bylaws right now - think Thorhild); Budget/grant (provincial budget & RDCK's - I have some budget breakdowns of this info already done by one of our members which I can send you); Social Credit System; official community plan; climate action plan and if someone can go into the RDCK website and see if there are any other plans we need to look at as there are many different names being used to get this stuff in.
I'd like to have handouts that back up everything that we are saying to give to each of the board members. Ex. Global News media with CSIS warning about smart cities, the Weather Modification Act, Dutch farmers fight and outcome, etc. By the end of the meeting they should have a full package to take home and ponder. The goal is education not confrontation.
A possible letter writing campaign may be required as well as I'm not sure of the timeline of some of these plans being passed.
I've just sent off a message to Paris with the RDCK to see if she would hold another Climate Action Plan meeting where we would need as many people to sign onto the zoom as possible
I think that about sums it up for now. Please let me know your thoughts.
In unity, friendship and f r e e d o m,
Judy Lamb-Richardson
